Senior Product Manager – Data & Analytics Platform

The Senior Product Manager, Data & Analytics Platform position presents an opportunity for a talented scientist with business acumen to leverage his or her scientific expertise while leading our P&L-focused Product Management function for the pharma discovery research segment across the globe.

Built over twenty years on one of the world’s largest collection of human genomes, Genuity Science’s data & analytics platform powers the most innovative precision medicine efforts to redefine the early discovery process to identify genetically validated targets. The customers we serve cover a broad spectrum, including clinicians, data scientists, bioinformaticians and geneticists across the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

This person will drive the vision for our portfolio of research software and advanced analytics product offerings using large scale cohorts of genomic data for target and biomarker discovery. The Product Manager must develop a comprehensive understanding of the product´s technology and capabilities, as well as deep insights into the market for the product. This person must be the voice of the user, design the product to maximize business value, be responsible for energizing the company to support the product vision, and build and execute against actionable plans to realize that vision. The main goal of this role is to drive adoption of the data & analytics platform.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop the vision for a product and build actionable strategic plans and detailed roadmaps for development, delivery and continuous improvement of the product. Inspire all other stakeholders in the company to support and drive towards the product vision.
  • Lead with influence and coordinate cross-functional teams to implement strategic action plans and detailed roadmaps and work closely with team leads to set goals and timelines, assign actions, track budgets and undertake project planning.
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to analyse the market for potential products and provide ongoing market monitoring including competitor landscape, market dynamics and customer segments.
  • Define pricing strategy, product messaging, positioning and configuration in collaboration with finance, commercial, marketing, IT and product development teams to ensure business goals, regulatory compliance and other considerations that may constrain or impact the maximization of the product´s business value are taken into account.
  • Passionate about “outside-in”, market-driven, and user-driven decision-making, this individual will focus on collaboration with customers, product, application science and key opinion leaders to develop proof-of-concept data and penetrating key application areas
  • Collaborate closely with the product development teams (software, research and application science as relevant) to assess product feasibility and execute the product development.
  • Brief and engage senior management on the product vision, investment priorities and road map status.
  • Act as the chief evangelist for the product portfolio

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or related life science.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within the healthcare industry in the field of bioinformatics, bio-statistics, or genetic sciences.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product management for NGS data, analytics or data analysis software platform.
  • Customer focused with a deep understanding and command of oncology and other disease areas. Intimate knowledge of customer requirements and competitive offerings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate value proposition and technical information to a range of customer and internal audiences required.
  • A strategic thinker with excellent analytical and organizational skills who can drive the translation of strategy into execution with direct and cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead effectively with sales and marketing professionals, technology leaders, product development leaders, and other key stakeholders.

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • Master’s or doctorate’s degree in Informatics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or related life science.
  • Experience working within the research & development organizations in the pharmaceutical industry, in particular translational research functions, strongly preferred.
  • Experience in working with international customers and stakeholders is a plus.
