IT Infrastructure Lead

We are looking for a capable IT Infrastructure Lead, who enjoys a hands-on technical lead role. This individual will require both deep and wide expertise in the Infrastructure space with experience in managing a small but high throughput technical team.

Job purpose

Information and data are at the core of the organisation’s operations. We are looking for a capable IT Infrastructure Lead, who enjoys a hands-on technical lead role. This individual will require both deep and wide expertise in the Infrastructure space with experience in managing a small but high throughput technical team. In this role you will manage and optimise systems on a day to day basis while working on more long-term company objectives to make our systems and Infrastructure more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices fully patched and up-to-date.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of IT infrastructure team – 3 engineers over 2 locations
  • Act as Technical Lead for IT Infrastructure Team
  • Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard.
  • Identify and define system Infrastructure and networking requirements for onsite and cloud systems adhering to best industry practices
  • Determining project requirements and developing work schedules for the team.
  • Delegating tasks and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
  • Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about system and security incidents
  • Work closely with Security and development teams providing guidance and infrastructure expertise on projects.
  • AWS services, application and network configuration and administration.
  • Working with development teams to ensure AWS oriented application design and implementation.
  • Contribution to and enforcement of technical standards and best practices.
  • Technical investigation and problem resolution for AWS-based solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.


  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or equivalent in Computer Science.
  • AWS Certifications to Professional level.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar IT infrastructure Lead role

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in designing secure networks, systems and application architectures for Enterprise.
  • Experience managing Microsoft AD environments.
  • Experience in managing small high throughput teams
  • Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure teams and technologies
  • Experience in management of technical teams.


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Team management experience
  • Excellent communication skills including a high standard of written and verbal English
  • Detail oriented and conscientious.
  • Organisation and time management skills are essential.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage own workload effectively.
  • Must be able to work according to timelines and achieve project deadlines.
